An ordinary American teenager faces extraordinary challenges when he sets his heart on donating equipment to young Cuban baseball players—an act of thanks to the country that gave his grandfather refuge during the Holocaust. Anticipating a curveball, his filmmaker parents take views on an intimate and deeply felt journey that shows just how complicated it is to "do good" in the world.
Havana Curvevall is running for 4 days at San Francisco's Vogue Theater, closing out the Hot Stove Baseball Film and Music Festival on February 8th at 5 pm, and screening the next three nights at 5 and 7 pm.
Featuring a photo op with the World Series Trophy and Q & A with KNBR baseball radio personality, Marty Lurie on Sunday night, and special guests from the Bay Area world of Baseball (Monday), Youth Activism (Tuesday), and Cuba (Wednesday).
Throughout the week, CinemaSF is running a baseball equipment drive to collect gear for Baseball Without Borders.
