Balanced BreakFEST

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Balanced Breakfast is a group of music industry professionals that meet for breakfast and talk about actions we can employ that will help the scene become a place where musicians & industry professionals can make money doing what they love. (Music)

Crashing Hotels
The San Francisco band Crashing Hotels, comprised of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ao Anderson and drummer Tony Bednar, is best described as dark electric dance rock. In early January 2014 the duo presented their debut collection, Advisory Act, a 7 song EP showcasing a sound all their own. Their considerable style ranges from heavy bass driven, up-tempo dance grooves to demonic, dark-and-sexy ballads.

The Y Axes
The Y Axes are a post-apocalyptic alternative pop band from the San Francisco Bay Area. Drawing influence from a myriad era of popular and esoteric music, they have refined a unique style that is often anthemic but always bittersweet. Intricate melodies, contagious hooks, and snapping rhythms help drive their compelling stories of coming of age in chaos and finding love in the direst of situations. The Y Axes are pop for music nerds.

Curious Quail
Started in a small kitchen studio mixing fuzzy guitar rock, orchestra samples, the sounds of an ATARI 800 computer and a Nintendo Gameboy, Curious Quail has evolved into a five-piece band, abandoning samples in favor of real violin, a drummer that specializes in orchestral percussion and a powerful male / female vocal duo - though the Gameboy is still in full effect. Called 'The Bay Area's Next Big Hope' by Death and Taxes magazine, the band's bizarre take on modern rock is a must-hear with their latest epic, 'After The Lights Failed' (produced by Jon Devoto of The Matches) reaching the #2 spot on Nanobot Rock's "Best albums of 2014". They have performed all over the west coast and at festivals such as LIVE105's BFD, C2SV, 8BitLA's FreqFest and MAGFest's Rockage.

The Wyatt Act
The Wyatt Act is a San Francisco based, high-energy, experimental, psychedelic SlamRock band for dancing!

Cave Clove
Cave Clove is a indie rock quartet with roots in Americana, jazz and rock&roll. A wash of soul and tight orchestration create the Cave Clove mood - a folk rock sound with smoky vocals, lurid harmonies and atmospheric rhythms. With overtones of pop and R&B, Cave Clove takes niche genres and integrates them into the band’s signature sultry tension, with big sound closing in around Americana-influenced melodies. Following October 2014's release of their single "Kyrie," Cave Clove has a new full length due out in spring of 2016. Cave Clove has earned accolades from the East Bay Express and Bay Bridged since starting in 2013, and the quartet has been called a unique and stellar addition to the evolving genre of Americana (East Bay Express).

Diamond Heights
Diamond Heights is an emerging progressive pop-rock 5-piece from San Francisco, blending a high-energy rock aesthetic with jangly riffs and dreamy interludes. Drawing on a diverse set of influences, the band's melodic, guitar-centric approach fuses dynamic, soaring vocals and propelling grooves to create an upbeat and danceable set.

Great Highway
Great Highway is a five-piece electronic rock group known for their dramatic stage presence and dreamy pop melodies. Formed in 2011 by San Francisco electronic producer Jason Hunter, their broody earworm pop songs have been praised as “haunting” and full of “raw power,” with unforgettable riffs that are catchy, danceable while also “quirky and thought-provoking.” Great Highway’signature sound incorporates the lush, moody vibe of The Xx, the powerhouse male-female vocals of The Naked & Famous, and the oddball pop arrangements of The New Pornographers, to create music that is immediately likable and infinitely interesting.

DJ Stefan Aronsen
Stefan Aronsen has been promoting Bay Area bands for over 5 years. He recently decided to take his promoting to the next level by bringing remixes of Bay Area rock bands to the dance floor. If you like to dance, you're going to love DJ Stefan Aronsen.
