Helen's musical career started with a tour with Richard Penniman (Little Richard). toured Canada as part of the New Supremes and Switzerland, Germany, U.S. and Italy with her sister as the Duncan Sisters. While living in Memphis, TN, she worked at Ardent Studio with William Tanner Productions as a jingle singer and on-call session singer. She also worked at Shoe Productions on-call session singer and with Willie Mitchell and Al Green in the Studios. She opened the "new" Club Handy on Beal Street and Marmalade's in Memphis, TN. She recorded 5 albums for Three Hats Production (THP) out of Toronto Canada when Disco was popular music. She did back-up on U2's " Rattle and Hum" album. Much could be said, but suffice it to say that Larry and Helen love to share their music to an appreciative audience.
Kimiko Joy
Singer/Songwriter, Kimiko Joy, captures a myriad of influences in her songs. From Blues and Jazz to R&B and Soul to Reggae and traditional classical Indian, Joy's vocal stylings combine passionate, heartfelt melodies with powerful poetry. "Music is a parallel dimension that can express the language of the soul. My job is to translate."
Joy's creative ambitions have lead her to sing with internationally known artists such as Booker T. Jones, Les Nubian, Zap Mama, the Hieroglyphics, and Lyrics Born. The many influences in Joy's career are all captured in an independent album release, MICROCOSMIC, in collaboration with the live band, Dynamic. "We created a musical canvas that's intense, danceable, catchy, sexy and humorous all at the same time. It's my greatest work yet."
