Over the past year, the team at plank has contributed more than just fun-filled afternoons to the community. On a number of occasions, plank has given back to the East Oakland Youth Development Center (EOYDC) and Friends of Faith for Breast Cancer Awareness. EOYDC hosts over 60 classes a week for more than 300 youths (ages 6-24) to develop their social and leadership capacities to ensure preparedness for employment, higher education and leadership opportunities; and Friends of Faith provides information and financial support to local Bay Area organizations that help low-income women and men undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
To continue this spirit of philanthropy and to celebrate their first anniversary, the team at plank will host a month-long charity-driven celebration, Autumn of Giving, dedicated to the East Bay community that has so warmly welcomed them. Every Monday night in the month of October, plank will donate 20 percent of their profits from bowling and gaming to a local charity (beneficiaries to be announced soon). Guests can participate by enjoying an entertaining evening at plank with family and friends while simultaneously contributing to a fantastic cause.
