The speaking event will be held at the main theater, followed by a Q&A. Books will be available for purchase.

Born in the US to immigrant parents from China, Amy Tan writes fiction novels including New York Times bestsellers: The Joy Luck Club, The Kitchen God's Wife, The Hundred Secret Senses, The Bonesetter's Daughter and Saving Fish from Drowning. Â
She is also the author of a memoir, The Opposite of Fate, two children's books, The Moon Lady and Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat and numerous articles for magazines. Â
Tan's new novel, The Valley of Amazement, released November 2013.
Ms Tan served as Co-producer and Co-screenwriter with Ron Bass for the film adaptation of The Joy Luck Club. Â She was the Creative Consultant for Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat, an Emmy-nominated PBS television series for children, which aired worldwide. Â
Her story in the New Yorker, "Immortal Heart," was performed on stages throughout the US and in France. Â
She wrote the libretto for an opera based on her novel, The Bonesetter's Daughter, music by Stewart Wallace in 2008. Â
Ms Tan's other works include serving as lead rhythm dominatrix, backup singer, and second tambourine with the literary garage band, the Rock Bottom Remainders, whose members include Stephen King, Dave Barry, and Scott Turow. Â Tan also appeared on The Simpson's as herself.
