A selection of large-scale color photographs from the artist's series Domesticated and Halloween in Harlem. Employing bizarre and dream-like juxtapositions, Stein's narrative images reflect the evolving story of American life. A monograph of Stein's work entitled Domesticated will be released in Fall 2008, by Photolucida.

But in Bluebird, Kansas, apple pie has been replaced with government cheese, general stores have made way for pawn shops, and hard work on the job has become the hard work of survival...
