at CELLspace (Crucible Steel Gallery) (8pm)
Join us for an exploration of the rise, corruption, and fall of an entire civilization in only three nights! Bear witness to the game of chance as you explore the city, become its inhabitants, and help shape its ultimate demise. Three nights of performance/para-formance encapsulate the entire legacy of CardBurg, the cardboard city. Participation is inevitable as you are swept up in the chaos of cardboard Monsters, superheroes, and dancing Duck-squatch.

Pete Jenson, a bookie, has a recurring dream in which he wakes up in a Honolulu hotel room on the eve of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Jenson eventually becomes convinced that he is in fact a time traveler and tries to prevent the attacks. Directed by Chris Hayes, dramaturged by Sam Shaw, and starring Bryce Byerley and a bevy of local improvisers, "The Time Element" is often called "the lost pilot" of the Twilight Zone.
Sat Apr 5
at Julia Morgan Center for the Arts (8pm)
Gamelan Sekar Jaya returns to one of its favorite Berkeley stages with a unique program, including pieces ranging from traditional dances to new hybrid gamelan forms. This special concert will feature the driving rhythms and interlocking melodies of three Balinese gamelan ensembles - orchestras of bronze percussion, gongs, drums and flutes accompanying the delicate movements of Balinese dance.
