Opening reception April 7th from 7-8:30pm, exhibition April 1st through April 28th
Laurie Wigham has been making paintings and sketches at the fault lines of San Francisco's latest seismic shift in identity. Her work seeks to reveal the paradoxes of beauty, discord, pain and grace in the cranes, scaffolding, green glass towers and burned apartment buildings of this changing city. To provide a historical perspective, Spark Arts will also be showing works by the late Ramon Pablo Vidali, who painted life in the Castro in the 1970s and 1980s. The show will open with a sketching meetup in Jane Warner Plaza as part of the Live! In the Castro series on April 2nd from 1-3pm. Changing City @ Spark Arts, 4229 18th Street. The opening reception is April 7th from 7-8:30pm.
