Don’t miss this rare weekend opportunity to experience the historic bookmaking and letterpress workshop of Arion Press and M&H Type, designated an “irreplaceable cultural treasure” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Free tours of the typefoundry, composing & press room, and hand book bindery at noon and 3 p.m.
See our fabled editions of The Bible, Don Quixote, and Moby Dick, Seamus Heaney’s last published book, Stone from Delphi, dozens of beloved classics and offbeat texts, and our new editions of The Day of the Locust, Porgy & Bess, and Animal Farm.
Exhibit and sale of fine press books, prints, photographs, posters by artists including Kara Walker, Michael Kenna, Kiki Smith, William T. Wiley, Julie Mehretu, Raymond Pettibon, Jim Dine, and Lucy Gray.
Celebrated artists Stan Washburn (1–4 p.m.) and Mark Ulriksen (2–3 p.m.) will be on hand talking about their Arion Press books and current work.
