The Arion Press, established in 1974 by Andrew Hoyem, publishes fine, limited-edition artist books with original prints by prominent artists. The books are printed and bound mainly by hand at the press in San Francisco. Titles range from ancient literature to modern classics, contemporary writing, and rediscovered texts. Arion publications are owned by private collectors, libraries, and museums throughout the world. The press was represented in the recent exhibition A Century of Artist Books at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The gallery exhibits artist books and prints published by Arion Press and also holds exhibitions on subjects relating to book arts and printing history.
