Antonio Guedes & Boca do Rio

SEE EVENT DETAILS
RSVP for $10 All Night Guest List at: https://www.brazasf.com/glist (Advance tickets will have preference in line).

Antonio Guedes (pronounced Ghe-gees) spans from tropical jams to downtempo beats, to reggae, to funk, to dub, and whatever feels right. As a music producer, he has accomplished some interesting combinations of sounds, like in the track “Agita” ,which mixes boogie-disco with samba. Also, “Samba Novo”, a classic samba jazz jam, and “Mandinga”, a samba rock groove, are highlights of his latest productions.

Boca do Rio has its roots immersed in an array of Brazilian rhythms, like samba, choro, afoxé, and baião. To create their unique sound, Kevin Welch, lead singer and classicly trained guitar player, brought in all the musical experience from his previous band, the Brazilian drumming ensemble Vivendo de Pão (Living on Bread), based around batucadas - the rhythm which shakes the Carnaval parade - to achieve a vibrant, and hypnotic sound. He also adds to their samba a dose of his American funk heritage we all love. Check out their link below, and get into the groove of “Afreeka”, “Samba Sambei”, and the sweat “Dreamer, Love in The Time of Climate Change”. All legit dance floor hits.
