Quizmaster Jacob Rubin dreams in questions. Rubin, who appeared on TBS’ King of the Nerds, handcrafts 30 fresh queries weekly for a traditional Tuesday night trivia game in Berkeley. But on the second Sunday of the month, Rubin and techno-competent producer, Will Scovill, take trivia to a whole different level with Answer Me!!!—a live panel-style trivia game featuring teams of local comedians and audience member contestants.
Cynic Cave’s high-tech video screening room supports questions using hilarious audio/visual clues. Every show is different, but past queries have included “Guess the Neck,”—contestants guess the identity of a celebrity after seeing only their neck; “Buh”—a variant of ‘name that tune’ in which contestants hear one second of a famous song; and “What’s My Mom Talking About”—an audience favorite, in which Jacob’s Mom provides video clues, ranting vaguely about something she loves or hates and contestants try to guess what it is.
This month's panelists:
Mikey Walz
Scott Simpson
Nicole Calasich
Audrey Crescenti
