Anamanaguchi (DJ Set)

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Anamanaguchi (DJ Set)
Anamanaguchi is a boy band made up of hackers and producers born & raised on the Internet, currently living in New York City. Anamanaguchi started in Pete Berkman’s basement in the suburbs of New York where Weezer, snacks and Super Nintendo lived in equal rotation. At 15, he began experimenting with creating punk music using an 8-bit NES. Following bass player James DeVito to NYU’s Music Technology program, Pete met Ary Warnaar who grew up in LA on raves, fashion and lazer tag. Ary began writing for the band, lending a more academic electronic-influence to Berkman’s capricious pop sensibilities. Later that year Luke joined as the band’s drummer via a MySpace message and then the band had fully formed.

BLAUS
Nathan and Zach Blaustone, San Francisco based electronic duo BLAUS. The brothers merge live instrumentation with digital samples to produce music blending atmospheric house, hip-hop, and experimental tech jazz. Their goal is to blend all arts—to fuse the tangible with the digital—by creating a new sub-genre, “Booty House”. The masses followed their lead after winning the Insomniac Discovery Project and were invited to play White Wonderland 2013. Through a prolific cycle of writing, recording and touring, a human warmth echoed forth by infusing rhythmical prose and live instrumentation to their electronic sound. Following their 2014 album release, ‘The Tone,’ the brothers signed with KHORUS Records soon releasing an EP and their second studio album later this summer. Booty House is truly a movement.

RZN8R
RZN8R, pronounced “resonator,” is the moniker of Oakland-raised producer/singer Derek Buckwalter. Derek draws from a wide array of influences, fusing his passions for singing, new thought spirituality, and beats, to craft deep, lush, hypnotic grooves.
