(((folkYEAH!))) is thrilled to present an acoustic evening with Patti Smith at the Golden State Theatre. Patti Smith first rose to fame in the 1970's with the release of her debut album, Horses, in 1975, which was a major influence on the New York City punk rock movement. Because of this, she has been hailed as the "Godmother of Punk". However, she is also a poet and visual artist, and is a recipient of the National Book Award for her memoir Just Kids, as well as a recipient of the 2011 Polar Music Prize. This special acoustic show will feature a birthday tribute to John Lennon.
