Join Chinatown Branch Library's monthly World Literature Book Club for an enjoyable discussion of The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan. In Tan’s acclaimed first novel three mothers, all Chinese immigrants to San Francisco, share stories of hardship and hope with four American-born daughters. On Saturday, May 7, at 1 pm, please also join us for a free screening of director Wayne Wang’s popular film adaptation of The Joy Luck Club, starring Tsai Chin, Lisa Lu, and Victor Wong.
Our book club meets the first Thursday of each month, 6:30-8:30 pm, in the Chinatown Branch Library (1135 Powell St.). All Library events are free and open to the public. New members are always welcome!
