SF Station Blows It Up

1. The Pigeon Detectives @ Popscene, San Francisco, March 20, 2008

The night started out great for me last Thursday with some drinks and some good beats and man did it end well, with The Switches and most of all The Pigeon Detectives. The Pigeon Detectives kicked some serious ass with tunes that made you want to freak out and scream. There was so much energy on stage it felt like they were powering their own instruments and the ultimate cog was vocalist Matt who I think must have only taken one breath the entire time that he ripped through the stage.

2. Nada Surf @ The Fillmore, San Francisco, March 22, 2008

Brooklyn’s own Nada Surf graced the stage at The Fillmore to a sold out crowd last Saturday night. The threesome drove the crowd to sing along from the first tune to the last performing songs from their new album Lucky.

3. Eagle Seagull @ The Independent, San Francisco, March 24, 2008

Man do I love surprises and last Monday night I got a big one at The Independent. I went to shoot Tokyo Police club and We Barbarians who are both great bands with amazing tunes and live shows. The surprise came in the form of a band called Eagle Seagull from Nebraska whose infectious sound mixed indie rock, electronica and, in their own words, “healing and easy listening” all into a big ball of fun. I know this might sound crazy but if you loved Alphaville you just might get obsessed with Eagle Seagull.
