SF Station Blows It Up

1. Tim Putnam of The Standard, live on stage @ Mezzanine, San Francisco, March 7, 2006

The Standard hale from Portland, Oregon, and with their unique, poetic lyrics and hard driving guitar riffs they will make you think. So walking into Mezzanine for this last minute show put on by the club I had no expectations but got a treat. With their strong stage presence and Tim's hard take-no-prisoners voice these guys control
your mind and body.

2. La Rocca, backstage @ Mezzanine, San Francisco, March 7, 2006

La Rocca has just made the move from the UK to LA LA Land. And -- DAMN -- these boys can move people with only simple keyboard rhythms and stomp-your-feet guitar work. With a sound that mixes Coldplay & Beck and introduces their very own style of rock these guys are on their way up.

3. Spinto Band, live on stage @ Cafe DuNord, San Francisco, March 12, 2006

This past Sunday I went to see the Spinto band at Cafe DuNord, it was an early show with local favorites Minipop opening. The Spinto Band is a six piece from Wilmington, DE and if you haven't heard of them, you will soon. These boys are fun to watch not only cause of their on stage antics but also because their lyrics actually make you dance. Vocal duties are shared between Thomas Hughes & Nick Krill and Jeff Hobson is on drums.
