SEE EVENT DETAILS
at Plough & Stars (see times)
Bust out your bestest country duds, spit shine your boots and head on down to the monthly Americana Jukebox for a special Country Swing Night! Featuring The Carolyn Sills Combo vs. The Bitter Diamonds.

CAROLYN SILLS COMBO (Santa Cruz)
Classic American Roots Music for modern times. This debut album reflects the combo's love and respect of many forms of classic roots music such as western swing, country, blues and even spaghetti western soundtracks, breathing fresh life into the sounds and atmospheres of yesterday. Featuring Carolyn Sills (bass, vocals), Gerard Egan (guitars), Charlie Joe Wallace (steel guitars), Jim Norris (drums) and Sunshine Jackson (vocals).
"Bassist Carolyn Sills and her guitarist husband, Gerard Egan - Santa Cruz's Les Paul and Mary Ford - crank out good stories, catchy love songs and creative chord progressions that will take listeners back to rockabilly vibes of the post-World-War-II era." - Good Times Magazine

THE BITTER DIAMONDS (SF)
"Old school country for modern times" is the motto for this San Francisco-based country band called The Bitter Diamonds. Legend has is the band was born when Charles Verlin finished a thermos of day old coffee in the parking lot of the Say When Casino in McDermitt, NV. Having lost the entirety of cash from his wallet, as well as the better part of the change in his ashtray, he pulled his truck onto the blacktop in search of a liquor store that would cash a payroll check. Damn, that sounds like a country song.
