| Description Digital artist Tim Roseborough volleys a shot into the video-game-as-art debate with his new interactive installation, "The Amazing iThing," at Magnet. "The Amazing iThing" will be exhibited with the simultaneous launch of Roseborough's new musical memory video game, Remelody.
Event guests can play Remelody on the "Amazing iThing," Roseborough's hardware installation which incorporates laser-cut plastics and touch-screen technology in an artistic interpretation of the popular Apple iPhone. Remelody explores the boundaries of memory as the player repeats sound and visual sequences. The game fuses geometric, abstract and anime styles and features sound designed by the Artist. "'The Amazing iThing' highlights the constructed distinctions between contemporary art and kitsch and seeks to settle the question of whether video games can be art. The answer is an unequivocal maybe," says Roseborough. |
