The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA)’s 15th anniversary Educating America Tour, featuring AFA’s free Concepts in Care educational conference, community memory screenings, a display of the AFA Quilt to Remember, and much more, stops in San Francisco on February 22.
More than 15,000 people in San Francisco have Alzheimer's disease and that number is expected to more than triple by 2050.
Attendees will learn from renowned Alzheimer’s and caregiving experts. Topics include access to healthcare and transitioning from home to a residential care setting. In addition, Dillon Campbell, singer/songwriter, and son of legendary country music artist, Glen Campbell, who is currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, will be in attendance to talk about the therapeutic properties of music in helping people cope with the many emotions of caring for a loved one with this devastating illness. He will also perform his song, “Letter From a Son,” which he wrote for his father.
