New Jersey has a reputation for churning out particularly angry hardcore punk rock bands. (Maybe it's from always having to live in New York's shadow. Who knows?) Altered Boys live up to this image, with fast, thumping beats, harsh, stripped-down riffs and growling, screaming vocals. Everything is at full throttle their entire set, like early Fucked Up. They've released only a handful of singles thus far, but their songs are so short it would take a good 40 songs to actually fill an LP. Fun fact: One of the members is also a straight-edge wrestler.
