More Than Just World Class Wines

Founded in 1992, the Alexander Valley Winegrowers' mission is to increase awareness of and appreciation for the uniqueness of Alexander Valley and the quality of wines produced there. The region's wineries and grape growers have joined together to share their special histories, traditions, and innovations with visitors who come from all over the globe to sample our world-class wines.

Alexander Valley, an important and respected source of premium wine grapes for wineries throughout California, received formal recognition as an American Viticultural Area (AVA) in 1984. The valley is twenty two miles in length, varying in width from two to seven miles. The Alexander Valley viticultural area, which includes both the valley floor and hills to the east and west, encompasses approximately 75,000 acres. Over 13,000 of those acres are currently planted to premium wine grapes.
