Alex Beyer has acquired an impressive array of prestigious concert appearances nationally and internationally. He has also been a guest soloist with the Harford, Waterbury and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestras.. Alex recently performed the Rachmaninoff's 3rd concerto in a return engagement with the Greater Bridgeport Symphony. Other first prize awards came in the Renee Fischer Competition and MTNA (Music Teacher's National Association) State and Regional Competitions. He was MTNAfinalist in 2011 in the Senior Piano division. Alex was one of the three finalists of the 2010 PianoArts competition and a semifinalist in the 2012 Gina Bachaur Piano Competition. He was one of the three classical musicians selected as a 2012 Presidential Scholar in the Arts, a program organized by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. Alex began his music studies with Mary Jane Cope in Santa Cruz. He was a 2012 graduate of the Juilliard Pre-college program where he studied with Dr. Matti Raekallio and Yoshie Akimoto. This year he is taking a gap year to study in Germany and perform. He will attend Harvard in the fall of 2013.
