The Santa Cruz Baroque Festival presents:
Music in the Gardens: A Tropical Affair
Featuring the award-winning Gamelan Anak Swarasanti
music - food - wine
Sunday, May 26 from 5pm
Following its popular Spanish-themed Flamenco Fiesta (2012) the Baroque Festival now presents a ‘music in the gardens’ party with a South-East Asian flair. This event offers an evening of music and dance of Indonesia, along with snacks and wine poured by Hallcrest Vineyards. The featured ensemble is Gamelan Anak Swarasanti, an award-winning Balinese gamelan orchestra performing professionally throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond in a wide variety of settings. Based in Santa Cruz, the group has its origins in UCSC's teaching gamelan, Gamelan Swarasanti - the name "Anak Swarasanti" means "Child of Swarasanti". This celebration marks the conclusion of the Baroque Festival's 40th anniversary season and takes place in the tropical garden of the festival's Artistic Director.
This event is a fundraiser for the Baroque Festival and takes place on May 26, 2013 from 5pm. The address will be provided to ticket holders. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through the UCSC Ticket Office (www.santacruztickets.com, 831-459-2159) and the Civic Center Box Office. For more information please visit
