| Description Sometimes described as an "acid Western," A Girl Is a Gun is certainly a weird trip. French New Wave icon Jean-Pierre Léaud stars as Billy the Kid, attempting to escape capture somewhere near the Mexican border. The film removes all narrative pretext to concentrate on an intense and twisted relationship between a man and a woman in a bizarre, elemental wilderness. Also notable is the droning, psychedelic soundtrack by Moullet's brother Patrice.
$5 general, students, and seniors; free for SFMOMA members or with museum admission (requires free ticket, which can be picked up in the Haas Atrium). Tickets are available at the Museum (with no surcharge) or online. |
