A special event at City Lights Bookstore celebrating the life and writing of Cuban author Antonio Benítez-Rojo. This event is also the release party for a new translation of Benítez-Rojo’s last book, Women in Battle Dress, published by City Lights.
The event will feature talks by Jessica Powell, the translator of this book from the Spanish, noted translator and author of Manuel Puig and the Spider Woman Suzanne Jill Levine, and Enrico Mario Santí, scholar of Cuban literature and professor at the University of Kentucky.
