7th Annual San Rafael Food & Wine Festival

Steven Restivo Event Services, LLC and the Historic Falkirk Cultural Center present the 7th Annual San Rafael Food & Wine Festival on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 1:00pm – 5:00pm. The Festival, located on the 11-acre grounds of the historic 1888 Queen Anne Victorian Falkirk Cultural Center, will feature live jazz music, wine tasting from regional wineries, chef demonstrations and food tastings from some of Marin County’s finest restaurants. The Falkirk mansion is located at 1408 Mission Avenue in downtown San Rafael.
Festival-goers will enjoy food from local restaurants and sample wines from 25 of the region’s outstanding boutique wineries. In addition, there will be a chef demonstration area featuring a number of famed local restaurants. Admission to the event is free; attendees can purchase a food and wine tasting wristband and glass for $30 on-site, or for $25 via the website. Ticket sales on the day of the event will be “cash only,” please.
Attendees will be treated to live jazz and classical music by the region’s best musicians. The historic 17-room Falkirk Cultural Center with its rolling lawns and views of Mt. Tamalpias provides the perfect backdrop for this celebration of the region’s food and wine.
Festival attendees can enjoy food from area restaurants and wine from local vineyards, including Rosa D'Oro Vineyards, Martin Ray Winery, Terra Savia, Eden Canyon Vineyards, Frog's Tooth Vineyards, Dogwood Cellars, The Winery SF, Spicy Vines, Alder Springs Vineyard, Rosenblum Cellars and many more. In addition to the food, wine and chef demonstrations, there will be over 25 art and crafts booths displaying art, sculpture, jewelry, clothing, and other crafts.

About the Falkirk Cultural Center
Falkirk Cultural Center is a 19th century country estate listed on the National Historic Register. The Queen Anne Victorian, designed by Clinton Day, was built in 1888 by Ella Nichols Park, and purchased by Captain Robert Dollar in 1906. Falkirk is named after Dollar's birthplace in Scotland, and his descendants occupied the house until 1970. The estate was saved from demolition in 1974.
