SFNoir is a multi-disciplinary organization celebrating Black contributions to popular culture in Film, Theater, Literature, Art, Dance and Music.
Bay Area residents have always welcomed opportunities to leant about different cultures and in response to the diminishing Black Voice in San Francisco, SF Noir was created to present year-round distinctive programming within the 'Black' context.
The 4th Annual San Francisco Black History Month Celebration presents intimate Expressions, a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the artists in this year's festival.
Highlights incude:
Gala Opening Reception hosted by VIPLineUp and The Speakeasy at the swank and new Roe Restaurant and Lounge with live jazz performed by the Mark Wright Trio
The Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra featuring Emmy-Award winning actor Peter Macon performing 'Midtown Sunset' based on the works of famed Harlem Renaissance painter Romare Bearden as told through the text of Langston Hughes
The intimate, witty and award-winning soulful a capella ensemble, The Irrationals
