Description

Announcing San Francisco Rock Projectís Second Annual Holiday Rock Prom & Auction. This yearís show will feature live entertainment by Rock Project students, Shannon & The Clams, Bobb Saggeth and Ava Mendozaís Unnatural Ways. The benefit raises much-needed funds for tuition assistance, facility upgrade and teacher compensation. The seasonís baddest, raddest, family-friendly bash supporting the future of rock and roll!

SFRP is a non-profit music school offering an intense performance-based program for kids who are serious about, and seriously into, music. Students are from all across the Bay Area and from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds. Many come from public schools whose music programs have been eliminated in budget cuts. We offer scholarships for students in need but canít keep up with the growing demand. We refuse to turn away anyone who wants to play whether or not they can pay. Fundraisers like this one make it possible for us to survive and thrive!

Together The Clams provide a secret ingredient that binds together doo-wop, early rock and R&B, girl group classics, 60's garage/psych, surf and glints of punk in a way that's hard to get across in words. You have to listen to it. You have to see it when it comes to your town. You have to be there and feel that moment when you're compelled to turn to the stranger next to you and slow dance together to a song like "Done With You" and then immediately shake every part you got that shakes to "The Cult Song". Call it what you want; Young Oldies, Garage Rock, Surf, Doo Wop, Punk, whatever, just call it on Friday night.
