‘Miyazaki Spirit’ Art Show Brings the Magic to Sixth Street

“Miyazaki Spirit” will feature paintings and illustrations inspired by legendary Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki. This Time Beards and Sketchpad Gallery show will take place on Saturday from 2-6pm and will unveil exclusive limited prints for sale by the artists.

Due to high demand, two alternate openings will also take place on Sunday, March 6th (1-5pm), and the following Saturday, March 12th (1-5pm).

Hayao Miyazaki may be best known for his animated fantasy films, including Princess Mononoke (1997), which was at one point the most financially successful film in Japan. Miyazaki, a Japanese producer, screenwriter and manga author, also won an Academy Award for Spirited Away in 2001.

Artists participating in this tribute show include Luke Harrington (Co-Curator), Craig Drake (Co-Curator), Tracie Ching, Nicholas Kole, Kevin Wilson, Malisa Suchanya, Krystal Lauk, Tiffany Terrill, Brynn Methane, Patrick O’Keefe, Chris Koehler, Jacob Magraw, YJ Lee and Jeany Ngo.
