Unfortunately neither the 49ers nor the Raiders will be playing in Super Bowl 50 this year at Levi’s Stadium, however, to shake the football blues, consider the inaugural Super City 50 electronic dance music festival at O.co Coliseum in Oakland on Saturday, February 6. This is expected to be a massive celebration in its own right – with Swedish progressive house DJ Alesso, multi-faceted dancehall artist Diplo, and Montreal electro-funk duo Chromeo, announced as headliners.

Additional acts scheduled to perform at this new urban EDM festival are electronic duo The Chainsmokers, Dutch house sensation Chuckie, hard-style EDM brothers Showtek. With the big game scheduled for Sunday, February 7, ambitious party people can double-dip with Super City 50 on Saturday and still watch Super Bowl 50 the next day.

Tickets start at $99 and go on sale tomorrow, December 23 at 10am PST. VIP passes are also on sale and surprisingly cost the same price as general admission, but include a red carpet entrance, a gift bag, plus a meet and greet photo opportunities with the festival headliners. Check out a preview video of the below.

Diplo has had quite a year, garnering tons of praise for his new material by his collaborative side projects Major Lazer and Jack Ü, which led to a Grammy nomination for his latter partnership with Skrillex with help from Justin Bieber vocals.
