The 2015 DIVINE WINE & FOOD EXTRAVAGANZA presented by Academy of Art University and the Harbor Point Charitable Foundation (HPCF) is gearing up for an unforgettable evening and fundraiser featuring world-class wines, mouth-watering cuisine, great auction items and special evening entertainment. Proceeds will benefit Novato’s Marin School of the Arts which provides students access to a high-caliber public school education with a strong foundation in the arts. Presenting sponsor, Academy of Art University will provide a scholarship to an MSA student. All proceeds from the evening will benefit MSA’s ongoing programs. This fun-filled event takes place on SATURDAY, MAY 9th from 5:30 – 9:30pm at the Unity Center, 600 Palm Drive, Novato (Hamilton Air Force Base.) https://www.divinewine.org

The Divine Wine & Food Extravaganza is all about providing a wonderful time for everyone while benefitting a program that helps kids achieve success in life. The gourmet food items are provided by some of the best restaurants in the county, and can be paired with an award-winning lineup of fine wines from the best wineries. From fine wines to gourmet food ensures that Divine Wine & Food Extravaganza is an event not to be missed.

The world class wines being served include Rocca - estate-grown Cabs, Black Kite - pinot noirs, Ahnfeldt Wines – award winning Cabs, Far Niente – high end cabs and chardonnays, Matua – New Zealand sauvignon blanc, Keller Estate – chardonnays and pinots, Matanzas Creek Winery – sauvignon blanc and merlot, Nickel & Nickel, Bourassa, Roederer Estate – sparkling wines, The Terraces – small, family-owned known for Zinfandels and Cabs, Gia Domella – small production of zinfandels, Skyfall – Washington state cabs and pinot gris, The Calling, and Gallegos.

Participating restaurants include Piazza D’Angelo (meat and vegetarian lasagna), Green Chiles, Lighthouse at Harbor Point (lamp chops), Buckeye Roadhouse, La Toscana (penne pasta dish), Piatti Italian Restaurant (crostini), and caterers, Mangia Nosh, Best Li’l Porkhouse (pulled pork sliders, beans & cole slaw), with more to be announced.

Marin School of the Arts students have prepared a special evening of entertainment that will include live music by MSA’s jazz ensemble and a brief theatrical presentation by MSA drama students. Live auction items arranged through Harbor Point Charitable Foundation (HPCF) will include exciting travel and vacation spots, wine tastings and tours, unique experiences and much more.

“This year’s Divine Wine Extravaganza will feature some spectacular wines for the wine lovers in the group and an enjoyable evening all around benefitting Marin School of the Arts,” said Harbor Point Foundation Director, Ray Kaliski. “Part of our mission is to help provide quality education for Bay Area children, and the Marin School of the Arts gives its students an immersion in creativity that propels them to success in their education and adult life."

MSA is a Specialized Secondary Program (SSP) within a public high school offering talented and motivated students, from diverse socio-economic, cultural and geographic backgrounds, an award-winning arts education along with college prep and academic courses on par with leading private academies. Nearly 500 students come from all over the Bay Area to be part of this unique experience at Novato High School that focuses on such disciplines as cinematic arts, dance, digital arts, photography, creative writing, visual arts, instrumental and vocal music, and musical and theatre arts.

The Mission of the Harbor Point Charitable Foundation is to facilitate increased funding and awareness of adult health issues by supporting Bay Area organizations that educate, conduct research and provide help to those experiencing a health crisis. The Harbor Point Charitable Foundation also provides funding for organizations increasing the quality of life for Bay Area children through education, health care and social enrichment programs. The Harbor Point Charitable Foundation is a not for profit 501(c) 3 organization
