Grumpy Cat is in San Francisco Tonight

For 28 years now, the San Francisco SPCA has found the purr-fect way to introduce homeless pets to potential families through their annual “Holiday Windows” adoption event.

Whiskers and noses press up against the glass of decorated storefront panes and beckon onlookers to get closer until their eyes meet with loving gaze of that car or dog whose biggest wish is to be taken home by that special someone and to be a faithful companion for life.

The 2014 edition, which opens November 21st and runs through January 4th, marks the 11th time the wildly popular display has been held at Macy’s in Union Square, attracting the attention of thousands of shoppers that flock to the area between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

At tonight’s opening festivities, Internet sensation Grumpy Cat herself will be the special guest of honor, promoting the adoption of the many animals that will be showcased throughout the event, as we as her new TV movie, “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever,” which premieres on November 28th on Lifetime.

After the ceremonies, which kick off at 5pm outside the store at Stockton and O’Farrell, the first 250 Grumpy Cat fans will have the chance to meet and get their picture taken with the famous frowning feline inside the store.
