Six Parties for Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo falls on a Monday this year, which means we can tack an extra day of partying on to a weekend full of events.

The usual suspects are all on the docket: music, tasty food, imported beer and specialty tequila. There are plenty of activities that appeal to everyone. Six highlights:

Friday

Cinco De Mayo Alley Party at Taverna Aventine
Activities: Street party with live DJs, food trucks, and drink specials.

Saturday

Eye Heart SF : San FranCINCO Block Party at Public Works
Activities: Indoor and outdoor fiesta featuring three music stages playing a range of deep disco to hip hop classics.

Cinco De Mayo at Lar Mar by Arkut Events
Activities: Day party celebration on an outdoor waterfront patio with Latin American DJs plus tequila and pisco sour specials.

Soul Clap & Dance-Off featuring DJ Jonathan Toubin at Rickshaw Stop
Activities: 1960s soul party and a a $100 cash prize dance contest judged by a panel of local celebrities.

Sunday

Cinco de Mayo Day Party at Novela
Activities: Mariachi band and DJs perform at a SoMa bar with spring cocktails and a taco truck.

Monday

Trio Sol de America at The Chapel
Activities: Latin and world music performed by a mariachi trio.
