The Lineup: Submit Your Band to Open Oyster Festival With Edward Sharpe, Poolside

SF Station’s local music showcase The Lineup returns this year with the opportunity for one local band to perform at San Francisco Oyster Festival before Poolside and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros take the stage in Golden Gate Park.

Four bands will also participate in a special showcase April 24 at Boom Boom Room.

APRIL 1 UPDATE:
Submissions are now closed for The Lineup and the voting page is live: http://bit.ly/TheLineup14. Vote for your favorite band and share on social media with the hashtag #TheLineup. We’ll pick a winner after the voting period ends on April 10.

MARCH 25 UPDATE: Different Fur Studios, a full-service recording studio for more than 40 years in the Mission District, is donating two 10-hour days of studio time with an engineer (valued at approximately $1,400) for the band with the second-most votes. Dates are subject to studio availability.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Submit your band with the form below by 10am, March 28.

Step 2: We will pick 7-10 bands for an online ballot, allowing readers and fans to vote for their four favorite bands.

Step 3: The four bands with the most votes will perform at The Lineup showcase, April 24 at Boom Boom Room and the band with the most votes will perform a 30-minute opening set at San Francisco Oyster Festival (an event that draws up to 10,000 music fans annually) in Golden Gate Park on May 10. In addition to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Poolside and more acts to be announced will perform at the festival this year.

The Lineup showcase last year drew a capacity crowd to Cafe du Nord for a night of music with local bands Branches, Kiwi Time, Happy Fangs and Bring The Tiger.
