Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros to Headline Oyster Festival

Organizers for the annual San Francisco Oyster Festival announced today that Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros will headline the festival this year.

APRIL 1 UPDATE: More bands were added to the Oyster Festival lineup, including “daytime disco” favorites Poolside (a highlight at the last Treasure Island Music Festival), dance rock band Ra Ra Riot and up-and-coming soul crooner Crash.

SF Station readers will also have the opportunity to choose which local band performs to start the festival through our showcase, The Lineup. Vote for your favorite band here.

We are offering a 20 percent discount through a partnership with the festival. Just enter “sfstation” as a promo code when buying tickets.

FEB 24 UPDATE: The festival returns for its 15th anniversary on May 10 at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park. More details are in the works, but visitors can expect plenty of oysters and a full lineup of musicians, including the winner of SF Station’s The Lineup local music contest.

After several years at the Great Meadow at Fort Mason, the festival made its debut in Golden Gate Park last year with Devo, Shiny Tow Guns, Mute Math, Family of the Year and The Lineup winner Branches on the main stage. A smaller second stage featured touring and local DJs and producers.

Stay tuned for more lineup and ticket information for 2014.
