San Francisco city officials are handing over the keys to Civic Center again this October for the return of the the Dew Tour Toyota City Championships skateboarding, BMX and FMX contest.

The competition returns Oct. 11-13 with a skatepark and massive dirt jumps for the BMX and FMX course and some of the biggest names in the three sports.

As part of the festivities, Common will perform at a ticketed event with a special guest at the Regency Ballroom on October 12 and a special art exhibition at Book & Job Gallery (838 Geary St.) will commemorate San Francisco’s historic role in the skateboarding and BMX scenes with skate and BMX photographers such as Bryce Kanights, Gabe Morford, Joe Brook, Luke Ogden and more. An opening reception is planned for Oct. 11 at 8pm.

Attractions around the courses include vendors, the opportunity to meet athletes and skate and ride the Dew Tour fan courses. Dew Tour Premium Passes are also available for a guaranteed spot near the action. Friday Premium Passes will cost $25; Saturday Premium Passes will cost $50. The event will be aired on NBC on Oct. 12-13, as well.

The Dew Tour made its debut in San Francisco last year with a temporary skatepark that paid homage to classic San Francisco skate spots Hubba Hideout, China Banks, Pier 7 and Justin Herman Plaza and a special appearance by Lil Wayne.
