San Francisco’s newest boutique hotel, Hotel Zetta on 5th Street, has opened its hip new lounge, S&R Lounge, this week.

S&R, short for Salvage and Rescue, is an eclectic space that serves as a lounge and playroom. Downstairs, there is a bar and plenty of seating. Restaurateurs Anna Weinberg and James Nicholas, along with Chef Jennifer Puccio, are in charge of the food menu and cocktail program. They have two other successful ventures in San Francisco – Marlowe and Park Tavern.

Puccio’s food menu features plenty of American party classics, like Pigs in a Blanket, Fondue and French Onion Dip & Chips. Cocktails are placed into three different categories: Rescue Cocktails ($14 each), Remedies ($13) and those in Bottles and Cans ($12). There is also a large list of wines by the glass and beer as well.

The team is also getting ready to launch The Cavalier, which will be a restaurant adjacent to Hotel Zetta. So far, it remains on schedule to open in August.

The design and overall space of the lounge is heavy in creative artwork. From chandeliers made out of eyeglass frames to an interactive wall inspired by the classic “The Price is Right” game Plinko, the space feels part retro and classic, but also with a very modern and hip vibe as well. The reclaimed and tech-inspired decor embraces all things “salvaged and rescued.”

Upstairs is where the Playroom is located, an extension of the S&R Lounge. The area, which is available for private events, features a game room, with pool table, shuffle board, giant Jenga and the latest gaming consoles.

The heavy focus on business and tech can be seen in not only the design, but also the availability of Wi-Fi throughout the space. There is also room for business meetings. “We envision S&R Lounge as the ideal social hub for the emerging Mid-Market tech community to work hard and play hard,” said Nicholas.

S&R Lounge is located in the lobby of Hotel Zetta (55 5th Street) and opens daily for breakfast from 6:00-10:30am and during the evening hours from 4:00-11:00pm.
