Free Block Party Coming to 20th Street on August 24

A collective of local businesses announced a free, family-friendly music event along the 20th street corridor in the Mission between Harrison and Bryant streets on August 24.

Labeled as the 20th Street Block Party, the Saturday afternoon festivities include a yet-to-be announced lineup of indie bands along with a food from local restaurants and vendors and art.

The event is scheduled to run from 12pm to 6pm with live music starting at 1 pm. Current block party participants include Italian favorite Flour + Water, Spanish tapas specialists Asiento, Blowfish Sushi to Die For, cocktail bar Trick Dog, and organization and alternative arts organization Southern Exposure. Stay tuned for the release of a full band lineup, planned by Noise Pop, as well as a complete list of participating restaurants and businesses sometime in July.

  1. Sounds like a good time for folks, but when was this actually discussed by noisepop with residents of the blocks that will be closed off? There was no communication about this with the neighborhood.
