Coachella 2013 is approaching quickly, which means many of the acts performing at the festival this year will be making stops in the Bay Area before or after the festival.

Here’s a list of performances from Coachella artists performing in the Bay Area:

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds: The Bill Graham Civic Center, April 9^th.

Alt-J: After gaining popularity with help from the soundtrack from Oscar Award-winning film, Silver Linings Playbook, Alt-J visit San Francisco during a nationwide tour before hitting Coachella. The Fillmore, April 10^th.

The Postal Service: The much anticipated reunion of Ben Gibbard’s acclaimed side project isn’t exactly coming to the Bay Area, but the band’s shows in Davis and San Luis Obispo could be worth the drive. Mondavi Performing Arts Center, April 10^th; Alex Madonna Expo Center, April 12^th.

Modest Mouse: Fox Theater, April 10^th.

Jessie Ware: This 28-year-old hopelessly romantic singer from the UK has what it takes to be the next Adele. The Independent, April 11^th.

Foals: With a new album out, Holy Fire, this ambient math rock band from Oxford, England are selling out shows quickly. In addition to Coachella, the band will perform at Lollapalooza this year. The Fillmore, April 11^th

The Airborne Toxic Event: Think the National with a little more classical instrumentation. The Warfield, April 11^th.

Portugal. The Man: The Mystic Theater, April 11^th. The Independent, April 12^th

Knife Party: The Warfield, April 12^th.

Yeasayer: The self-proclaimed “Middle Eastern-psych-snap-gospel” quartet from Brooklyn stops in the Bay Area for a pre-Coachella performance. Mezzanine, April 12^th.

Johnny Marr and the Healers: Starting as guitarist and Morrissey co-conspirator in the Smiths, Johnny Marr was also a member of Modest Mouse and has played alongside Paul McCartney and the Pretenders. The Fillmore, April 13^th.

Band of Horses: The Fox Theater, April 13^th.

Bat for Lashes: The Regency Ballroom, April 14^th.

CANCELLED Lou Reed: Former Velvet Underground front man Lou Reed will take his Coachella honeymoon with two performances in the Bay Area. If they miss him in San Francisco, fans can take a walk on the wild side to Monterey before he heads back to Indio. Warfield Theater, April 14^th. Golden State Theater (Monterey), April 16^th.

Ben Howard: It was only a matter of time before Ben Howard caught worldwide attention with his potent lyrics, obscure guitar picking and beautiful songwriting. He plays back–to-back shows in SF. The Fillmore, April 14^th and 15^th.

Dropkick Murphys: The Catalyst, April 15^th. The Warfield, April 16^th.

Dead Can Dance: This world fusion band from Australia blends of unique instrumentation with whimsically eerie female vocals and male vocals reminiscent of David Bowie. They’ve been playing since 1982, and recently reunited in 2005 after a decade-long hiatus. They play two shows in northern California before heading overseas. Davies Symphony Hall, April 15^th. The Uptown (Napa), April 17^th.

Grizzly Bear: Henry Miller Library, April 15^th & 16^th.

James Blake: Blake plays a hybrid of electronic and R&B with an organic and soulful voice. He’s generated a loyal following with links to Bon Iver, Feist and Brian Eno. Mezzanine, April 16th.

Beach House: The Fillmore, April 16^th. Henry Miller Library (Big Sur), April 17^th.

Sigur Rós: The ambient post-rock band, well known for their ethereal sound and use of bowed guitars, will embark on an American tour with Coachella being their last stop. Sandwiched in between their two festival dates are shows in Oakland and San Francisco. The Fox Theater, April 16^th. Bill Graham’s Civic Auditorium, April 17^th.

Vampire Weekend: The Fox Theater, April 17^th.

Metric:The Fox Theater, April 18^th.

The Lumineers: This band has come a long way since playing Strictly Hardly Blue Grass, becoming mainstream radio favorites and even winning a Grammy. Catch them in the East Bay with Dr. Dog. The Greek Theater, April 19^th.

Infected Mushroom: The Regency Ballroom, April 20^th.

Roni Size: The Independent, April 20^th.

Aesop Rock: When the Coachella is all said and done, Aesop Rock will have only just begun. The San Francisco resident embarks on a tour full of West Coast dates after the festival, starting in Oakland. The New Parish, April 22^nd.

Rodriguez: The focal point of the documentary Searching for Sugar Man (a 2012 Academy Award winner), Rodriquez has been dubbed “bigger than the Beatles” in South Africa and was sought out by his fans to resurrect his career. The Warfield Theater, April 23^rd
