Richard Blais Book Tour Set For Bay Area

The debut cookbook of chef and restauranteur Richard Blais hit the stands on Tuesday. And with that comes the book tour, with a pair of stops coming up in the Bay Area.

Blais is the winner of Bravo’s Top Chef All Stars and chef-owner of The Spence and Flip Burger Boutique in Atlanta. His book, “TRY THIS AT HOME: Recipes from My Head to Your Plate” offers a bit of a simplified look at cooking, yet still featuring new flavor combinations and textures. Sharing 125 recipes, Blais offers dishes that are easy to prepare for a home cook, but also allows for variations for those looking to expand their cooking horizons, offering tips on using a sous vide machine or even liquid nitrogen.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Blais has worked with some of the finest chefs in the world, including time spent in the kitchen with Thomas Keller, Daniel Boulud, Ferran Adria and also at Chez Panisse in Berkeley. While known for his inventive and creative dishes, he also knows the importance of the food and classic dishes.

Blais will be in San Jose at Sur La Table (378 Santana Row) on Sunday, March 3 for a signing and Q&A, which starts at 11:30am. He will be at Book Passage in the Ferry Building for a book signing at 6:00pm.
