New Year’s Eve is one of the busiest nights of the year , with revelers enjoying food and drinks throughout the evening. Here’s a guide to some spots running specials that will make sure you’re not drinking on an empty stomach.

I’ve based my list by what restaurants I saw with availability on Open Table in San Francisco. There are many other spots that might have a time or two (it’s always best to call the restaurant, especially if you’re trying to get into a tough spot). Here are a few spots in different price ranges offering special menus for the evening.

$60 and less:

Andalu (3198 16th Street) is offering a special four-course prix fixe menu for $49, wine pairing is an additional $25. Blue Plate (3218 Mission Street) is offering three courses for $55. Castagna (2015 Chestnut Street) is offering three different seatings (5:00, 6:45 and 8:45 p.m.). Early seating for the three-course dinner is $51, $60 for the two later seatings. Farmer Brown (25 Mason Street) is open New Year’s Eve and offering a four-course menu for $55 with an optional $30 cocktail pairing. A live DJ will also be on hand for entertainment.

$90 and less:

Alfred’s Steakhouse (659 Merchant Street) is offering a special five-course menu for $80. Be aware, the restaurant requires a credit card to hold the reservation. Canela Bistro Bar (2272 Market Street) will have two seatings (6:00/9:00 p.m.) and is offering an eight-course menu, including a glass of Cava for $75. Contigo (1320 Castro Street) is featuring a Tapas Tasting Menu of seven dishes, including dessert, for $75. Fringale (570 4th Street) is offering a four-course prix fixe menu for $78.

$90+

Alexander’s Steakhouse (448 Brannan Street) is offering two different prix fixe menus; the six-course offering is $165/person and the nine-course menu is $250/person. Bluestem Brasserie (1 Yerba Buena Lane) is holding two seatings on New Year’s Eve. The first (5:00-7:00 p.m.)vfeatures a four-course menu for $90; the second (8:00-11:00 p.m.) is $110 and also includes a complimentary glass of Champagne. Greens Restaurant (Building A, Fort Mason) will feature a four-course prix fixe menu with live music for $95. Hops & Hominy (1 Tillman Place) is pairing up with Drake’s Brewing for an eight-course tasting menu with beer pairings. Dinner starts at 7:30 p.m. and is $135.

Once again, these are just a few of the spots that are holding special dinners on New Year’s Eve. Later this week, we’ll look at some other special food events around the Bay Area.
