Sam Wo’s First Fundraiser at Cameron House

Sam Wo Restaurant‘s first fundraiser lunch event happens on Saturday, September 29, 2012, from noon to 2 pm. At Donaldina Cameron House in Chinatown, 920 Sacramento Street. The cost is $25 per person at the door. This luncheon event is part of the local efforts to renovate and reopen this 100 year old restaurant. Organizers hope this event raises $15,000. About $100,000 are needed to complete the construction work, so additional fundraiser events are expected.

The luncheon will feature comfort dishes that regular customers have grown to love over the years: Sam Wo’s BBQ pork rice noodle roll, jook (plain and pei don – preserved egg), beef stew, chicken chow mein, yang chow fried rice (veggie version), veggie fried spring rolls, BBQ corn on the cobb, etc. Plus a special menu addition made by volunteers, “Dumpling of the Fragrant Western Garden” pot stickers.

Even if you cannot attend this fundraiser lunch event, any donations to help support Sam Wo are welcome. Use PayPal ([email protected]) or mail your check to the address listed below, payable to “Sam Wo Reconstruction Fund” with the comment “donation” on the check.
