Beautiful views of the Bay and a menu filled with a little something for everyone – the choices abound for those looking to enjoy lunch on the Embarcadero as part of EPIC Roasthouse’s new weekday lunch service.
The waterfront restaurant is now offering lunch during the week, Wednesday-Friday, from 11:30-2:30 each day. As is always the case at EPIC and neighboring restaurant Waterbar, there isn’t a prettier view of the Bay.
But it can’t all be about the view; the food has to match up. And so Chef Jan Birnbaum has developed a menu sure to satisfy those who are really hungry and others just looking for a small bite.
The Explosion Burger is for those looking for a truly filling meal. Is it pricey? Sure the $20 price tag is a little high. Diners have their choice of going with a Morbier cheese, Aged Cheddar or naked. But this is not your typical cheeseburger. Instead of being grilled on top of the hamburger patty, it is embedded within the meat, “exploding” on each bite. Plenty of toppings are offered as well. Hungry guests may be able to conquer the burger by themselves but it’s great to share as well. Other items include a chef-inspired daily pizza, spare ribs, daily grilled fish and BBQ beef brisket sandwich. Sides include fries and truffle mashed potatoes. Starters can be as small as some oysters to a bowl of corn and clam chowder or a tomato salad.
Upon my most recent visit, crews were working on finishing up the patio, a perfect spot for al fresco dining. Work is expected to be finished by the end of August.
