MATCHA: Shamanism This Thursday

Dohee Lee, current artist-in-residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts, fuses Korean Kyunggi-Do dance, percussion and vocals with contemporary elements and the shamanic traditions of her birthplace–Jeju Island in South Korea.

In an upcoming MATCHA event,  Lee will demonstrate, Mago, her latest performance piece at the Asian Art Museum.

Bridging the gap between the living and the spirit world, Mago will reveal Lee’s unfolding vision.

The event will run from 5pm to 9pm Thursday at the Asian Art Museum with the performance by Lee taking place from 8pm to 8:30pm followed by a question and answer session with Headlands Center for the Arts Program Director Brian Karl.
