GAFFTA Pushes the Envelope with The Bunker A/V Sessions

This Saturday, July 21, GAFFTA puts on the first in a series of events called The Bunker Summer A/V Sessions at Monarch.

As a leading purveyor of digital culture through a variety of creative technology and new media, GAFFTA is putting on another round of GAFFTAHours to spice up SF’s thriving nightlife with a series of events geared toward exploring the possibilities when merging sonic and visual art.

For this series, GAFFTA teams up with NY-based techno institution, The Bunker. Since 2003, The Bunker has brought over 500 DJs and live performers to their monthly in Williamsburg, making them a key player for underground dance music on the East Coast. The Bunker Summer A/V Sessions will present artists curated by The Bunker with GAFFTA providing supporting acts and code-based artists to set the scenes.

The first installment will be headlined by Italian dub techno duo Donato Dozzy and Neel, as Voices From The Lake, along with support from The Bunker’s own Spinoza. Known for making particularly hypnotic tracks, Dozzy and Neel are long time friends who nailed the atmosphere in their self-titled full length this year, which earned a perfect score from the reviewers at Resident Advisor.

Locals Leisure Muffin and Cullen Miller will provide supporting sets. Visual artists include Jono Brandel, Syed Reza Ali, and Stephanie Sherriff.

The Bunker A/V Sessions will be at Monarch, Saturday, July 21. Tickets are $20 – $25 and can be purchased here.
