Video: Paris/Berlin: 20 Years of Underground Techno Trailer

This Friday, June 27, As You Like It presents a Sandwell District showcase with a special screening of Amelie Ravalec’s new documentary, Paris/Berlin: 20 Years of Underground Techno, at Public Works.

The documentary covers the development of techno scenes as they spread across the pond to cities in Europe. As two major hot spots with vastly different cultural and political climates, Ravalec investigates the appropriation of the scenes in Paris and Berlin and how the respective environments affected their nature today.

Sandwell District mainstays RRose, Funtion, and Silent Servant will provide the hard, gritty sounds of the underground shortly after the 9pm screening of the film. You can also catch some action in the Oddjob loft with Mark E, Conor, and Rich Korach.

As You Like It returns to Public Works Friday, June 27. Opening set by Mossmoss. More information and tickets can be found here.
