Pablo Sandoval Questioned Following Claims of Sexual Assault

San Francisco Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval was questioned over the weekend, part of an investigation in a sexual assault case.

The Giants slugger met with investigators with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department on Friday amid accusations from a female that he sexually assaulted her.

Sandoval’s attorney, Eric Geffon, said his client met with investigators about what Geffon called “a consensual sexual relationship.” Sandoval had been a guest at the Seascape Beach Resort in Aptos.

Sheriff’s officials said the investigation is ongoing, no charges have been filed at this point and that Sandoval has cooperated with their investigation.

The third baseman has been on the disabled list since undergoing hand surgery on May 4. He played for the Giants minor league team in San Jose this past weekend as part of his rehab assignment.
