In his long and storied career, prolific writer Barry Gifford has produced over forty works ranging from poetry to fiction to nonfiction, some of which have garnered numerous honors.
With a distinct style that’s hard to pin down–described by critics as a mix of comic realism with surrealistic themes–he’s achieved global renown and has been featured in magazines and poetry journals from all over the world.
On Thursday, May 31, he comes to City Lights Bookstore to discuss a new volume of work titled Imagining Paradise that collects together his own personal selections from his nine previous poetry collections and also includes new poems never before published.
Songwriter and published author Willy Vlautin will also make an appearance at the event to help celebrate the book release.
The event will take place at 7:00 pm Thursday, May 31, 2012 at City Lights Bookstore.
