The Lineup: Roosevelt Radio Want Your Vote and Free Sushi
Hailing from the land of Cal Bears, liberal ideas and an awesome weekly Bart station drum circle, Berkeley’s Roosevelt Radio bring a taste of indie synth-pop to the pool of bands vying for votes to perform at The Lineup local music showcase on June 13 at Brick & Mortar Music Hall.
Here’s their back story:
Band Name: Roosevelt Radio
Hometown: Berkeley
Born Date: January 2010
Sounds Like: High-energy synth rock with intricate male/female harmonies, inspired by The Decemberists, The Strokes and Passion Pit.
Fun Fact: RR’s 2012 album “Dream of Demolition” was recorded in Third Eye Blind’s private studio in San Francisco.
Most Memorable Show: Our first L.A. gig, which was the national finals of a battle of the bands that was filmed for TV. We schmoozed with famous producers, ate complimentary catered sushi, and the bands had a legit VIP section. We keep trying to wear those VIP passes to other shows and request sushi, but it hasn’t worked yet! (sadface)
When not making music, find them at: El Metate in The Mission, or plotting world takeover from Emma’s kitchen.
